Frequently Asked Questions – Front Desk Edition

Bailey Smithers, Front Desk Coordinator

At Camp Plastic Surgery, we understand how important it is to have clear answers to your questions when it comes to your aesthetic and wellness journey. Whether you’re considering your first treatment or you’re a seasoned patient, we are here to provide clarity.

Below, we’ve compiled some of the most frequently asked questions, front desk edition, to help you navigate your experience with us. Let’s dive in!

1. What are the main differences between Hydrafacial and DiamondGlow?

Both Hydrafacial and DiamondGlow are excellent treatments designed to leave your skin feeling refreshed, radiant, and smooth. However, they differ in their approach.

  • Hydrafacial: This treatment focuses on chemical exfoliation using a combination of acids to remove dead skin cells and reveal a brighter complexion. It’s perfect for those who are looking to exfoliate and hydrate in one session.
  • DiamondGlow: Unlike Hydrafacial, DiamondGlow uses diamond tip technology for manual exfoliation. It’s ideal for those looking for a more hands-on approach to deep cleansing and exfoliation.

Both treatments offer the same core benefits: cleansing, extraction, exfoliation, and hydration that leaves your skin with a gorgeous, dewy glow.

As a special bonus, our Skin Squad membership provides an opportunity to try both treatments at a discounted monthly rate. Talk about a win-win for your skin!

2. Do we offer financing options?

We understand that budgeting for your treatments or procedures can be just as important as the results themselves. That’s why we’re happy to offer a variety of financing options:

  • PatientFi, Cherry, and CareCredit are available for surgical procedures.
  • Alle financing is available for non-surgical procedures.

We strive to make our treatments accessible to as many patients as possible. Feel free to ask our front desk team for more information about our financing partners and how they can help you achieve the look you desire.

3. What is the current timeframe for consultations and surgery?

Booking a consultation for surgery depends on several factors, including the time of year and the surgeon’s availability.

  • Dr. Camp: Currently, Dr. Camp’s consultations are booking into mid-March, with surgery scheduled approximately 8-12 weeks afterward, depending on the procedure.
  • Dr. Nguyen: Our newest surgeon, who just completed his fellowship in Houston, has availability for both consultations and surgery as early as February!

We always encourage you to reach out as early as possible to secure your spot with our skilled surgeons.

4. How do I know what laser type is right for me?

When it comes to lasers, there’s no one-size-fits-all. At our practice, we use Sciton lasers, each designed to address a specific skin concern. Whether you’re dealing with redness, fine lines, discoloration, or uneven texture, we have a solution for you.

During your consultation with one of our aesthetic providers, we’ll assess your goals and concerns, and from there, create a customized treatment plan just for you. Our goal is to ensure that you leave with the right treatment to achieve your skin goals.

5. Do the surgeons have a BMI policy or other health restrictions where they would not operate?

Your safety and well-being are our top priority. For this reason, we have certain health restrictions and a BMI policy in place to ensure that surgery is the right option for you. If you have any questions or concerns about these policies, our front desk team and clinical staff are here to guide you every step of the way. We want you to feel confident and informed as you move forward with your care.

6. How do I know what antioxidant/Vitamin C is right for me?

Choosing the right antioxidant or Vitamin C serum is crucial for addressing your unique skin needs. Here’s a quick breakdown of which products are best for different skin types:

  • CE Ferulic: Ideal for dry/aging skin, this serum helps improve hydration and fights signs of aging.
  • Phloretin: Best for those with pigmented skin, as it helps target discoloration and even out skin tone.
  • Silymarin: Perfect for acne-prone or oily skin, this serum helps control oil production while offering antioxidant protection.

Our team is here to help you select the right product for your skin type and concerns!

7. What medical skincare brands do you carry at the office?

We are proud to offer a wide selection of medical-grade skincare products from top brands. As a SkinCeuticals Flagship office, we carry their full line of effective and science-backed products. In addition to SkinCeuticals, we also offer products from other trusted brands, including:

  • SkinMedica
  • Alastin
  • ZO
  • Colorescience

You can purchase these products directly from our office or shop conveniently online through our online store. Our team can also guide you toward the best products based on your skin concerns.

8. How frequently will I be seen after my procedure?

Post-operative care is just as important as the procedure itself. The frequency of follow-up visits depends on the type of procedure and your healing process. Typically, patients are seen at the following intervals:

  • 24 hours post-op
  • 1 week post-op
  • 3-6 weeks post-op
  • 3-month mark
  • 6-month mark
  • Annually

Of course, if you have any concerns or questions between appointments, our team is always available to assist you. We’re committed to supporting your recovery every step of the way!

9. How can I get a tailored skincare regimen without scheduling any invasive treatments?

If you’re not quite ready for an invasive treatment but still want personalized skincare advice, we offer the VISIA consultation. Our expert esthetician, Kristen, will assess your skin’s unique needs and provide tailored skincare recommendations. This is the perfect starting point if you want to achieve your skin goals with non-invasive products and services.

10. If I am experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, low energy, etc., is there a provider who I can see to help with these things?

If you’re feeling low energy, fatigued, or just not quite yourself, we have a wellness provider, Kiley, who can help! Whether it’s medical weight loss, peptides, IV therapy, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), or more, Kiley will work with you to determine the best treatment plan for your needs. Your health and vitality are just as important as your appearance, and we’re here to help you feel your absolute best!
