Motiva Preservé™: A Tissue-Preserving Approach to Breast Augmentation

Woman with Motiva Preservé™ Implants. (Model)

Motiva Preservé is a minimally invasive breast augmentation technique designed to place implants while preserving the natural anatomy of the breast. As one of a limited number of surgeons in the United States trained to offer this approach, I am proud to be the only surgeon currently providing Motiva Preservé breast augmentation in Fort Worth.

This technique represents an important evolution in breast augmentation. For the right patient, it offers a gentler surgical option while still achieving meaningful aesthetic enhancement.

What Is Motiva Preservé?

Motiva Preservé is designed to place implants while preserving the natural anatomy of the breast. It combines specialized surgical tools with Motiva implants to minimize disruption to breast tissue, nerves, blood supply, and internal support structures.

The goal is to enhance breast volume while respecting the body’s natural architecture, rather than altering it unnecessarily.

How Is Motiva Preservé Different From Traditional Breast Augmentation?

Motiva Preservé differs from traditional breast augmentation by placing the implant without cutting through breast tissue or extensively disrupting the internal breast structures.

In conventional augmentation, a surgical pocket is created by separating tissue to make room for the implant. Preservé uses controlled tissue elongation instead, allowing the breast’s natural structures to gently accommodate the implant.

What Does “Breast Augmentation Without Cutting the Breast Tissue” Mean?

With Motiva Preservé, the implant is placed by gently separating and elongating the tissue rather than cutting through the breast. This does not mean surgery is eliminated; although it is still a surgical procedure, it causes less trauma to the surrounding tissue.

How Does Motiva Preservé Support Faster Recovery and Reduced Swelling?

Because Motiva Preservé minimizes tissue trauma, many patients experience less swelling, less discomfort, and a quicker recovery compared to traditional techniques. While recovery varies by individual, many patients can return to their daily activities sooner than after more invasive procedures.

Why Tissue Preservation Matters for Long-Term Breast Health

Preserving breast anatomy helps maintain blood supply, nerve pathways, and internal support structures that influence sensation and long-term outcomes. These elements affect how the breasts feel, move, and maintain their position over time.

What Technology Does the Motiva Preservé System Use?

The Motiva Preservé system uses specialized single-use instruments and breast implants designed to minimize disruption to native breast tissue. Together, these components work as an integrated system rather than as isolated tools:

  • A channel separator creates a pathway without cutting breast tissue.
  • An inflatable balloon gently elongates tissue in a controlled manner.
  • An insertion sleeve allows implant placement through a smaller incision using a no-touch technique.
  • Ergonomix2® SmoothSilk® implants provide natural softness, movement, and adaptability.

These technologies allow the implant to be placed while preserving the breast’s natural support structures.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Motiva Preservé?

Motiva Preservé is best suited for patients with a good natural breast shape seeking breast augmentation without a breast lift. In general, ideal candidates often include patients who:

  • Want volume enhancement without significant reshaping
  • Have good skin quality and breast position
  • Prefer a tissue-sparing surgical approach

This technique is not the right fit for every patient considering augmentation, so it is important to determine candidacy in a personal consultation.

Who May Be Better Served by Traditional Breast Augmentation Techniques?

Patients who need a breast lift or significant reshaping typically require traditional breast augmentation techniques. In these cases, additional surgical steps are necessary to reposition the breast tissue and skin, which cannot be achieved with a preservation-focused approach alone.

How Does Motiva Preservé Compare in Cost to Traditional Breast Augmentation?

Motiva Preservé costs more than traditional breast augmentation because it requires specialized technology, implants, and advanced surgical training. The difference in cost reflects the complexity of the system and the emphasis on minimizing tissue disruption.

During your consultation, I review all available options so you can make an informed decision based on your goals and priorities.

What Should You Know Before Considering Motiva Preservé?

Motiva Preservé offers meaningful benefits for the right patient, but careful evaluation is essential. This approach expands the options available when anatomy and goals align.
