Childbirth and aging can cause changes to your most intimate areas, and that can have an effect on your level of confidence and sexual enjoyment. You no longer need to live with those changes, thanks nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation with ThermiVa® and Viveve®. In Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Steven Camp is one of the few plastic surgeons to offer these state-of-the-art, no downtime treatment options to his patients from Abilene, Mansfield, and the surrounding areas.
A Customized Procedure
Dr. Camp understands that vaginal laxity and the loss of sensitivity after childbirth are sensitive topics. He discusses your specific concerns privately during the consultation to assess whether nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation is the appropriate treatment for you.
In some cases, he may recommend labiaplasty, a surgical procedure that can reshape or reduce uneven, extended, or oversized labia. Nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation may also be part of a mommy makeover procedure to further restore the body after childbirth (the procedure typically includes cosmetic breast surgery and body contouring).
Women who benefit from a nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation treatment typically have one or more of the following concerns:
- A change in the shape, size, or volume of your labia
- Vaginal dryness, even when sexually aroused
- Occasional urinary incontinence, especially when laughing or sneezing
Your Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatment
Both ThermiVa and Viveve use heat generated by radiofrequency energy to trigger renewed skin tone through the production of collagen, which helps tighten the vaginal walls. During the treatment, Dr. Camp applies this thermal energy using the sterile, single-use handpiece, targeting specific areas such as the labia minora, labia majora, clitoris, or the inside of the vagina. The extent of the treatment depends on your specific concerns.
There is little to no discomfort during the 30-minute procedure, and no anesthesia is necessary. Women usually report feeling a moderately warm sensation. The Vivene system alternates heat with cooling pulses for deeper heating than ThermiVa without pain or damage to the delicate tissues. With ThermiVa, patients typically require a series of 3 treatments spaced 30 days apart. Viveve typically requires just a single treatment.
While both ThermiVa and Viveve tighten the vaginal opening and inner walls, ThermiVa may be used to rejuvenate the outer labia and clitoris as well. Dr. Steven Camp is proud to be the co-owner and medical director of Camp Plastic Surgery’s OrangeTwist Med Spa location and the Browtini Bar in Fort Worth. Recovery After Vaginal Rejuvenation
There is no downtime involved if you undergo ThermiVa or Viveve as a standalone treatment; you can return to your life as normal, including work, immediately. You don’t need to postpone sexual intercourse after ThermiVa; however, we recommend waiting 48 hours after Viveve to allow treated tissues to recover.
How Long Does It Take for ThermiVa and Viveve Results to Develop?
Women usually say that they experience noticeable results soon after the first ThermiVa treatment; results typically develop within 30 to 90 days after a Viveve treatment. These include enhanced sensitivity, a “tighter” feeling, enhanced lubrication, and fewer episodes of urinary incontinence.
